New Walgreens Rewards System!

{Confused? Learn how to shop at Walgreens HERE.}

Walgreens is taking a cue from Rite Aid and changing up the way they do things! Starting a few days ago in certain test areas (Richmond, VA; Kansas City, MO; Portland, Oregon), Walgreens introduced the Walgreens Rewards Card!

This card will be similar to a Fresh Values Card at Smith's, meaning you will need it to get the sale price on specific items. You will also earn points for every dollar spent at Walgreens.

  • Get 10 points for every $1 spent (It's unclear whether this is before or after MFQ's!)
  • Get 100 points for every prescription
  • "Bonus Point Promotions" will be eligible for additional Rewards points with purchase of certain products
  • Bonus point promotions will not apply to rain check items
  • Walgreens.com purchases that are paid for and picked up in store are eligible for points
  • Points can be redeemed for rewards certificates, gift cards or other merchandise
  • You may use Walgreens Rewards Certificates along with other Walgreens or manufacturer discounts or promotions (yay!)

Cool features:
  • If you forget to hand your card during a transaction, you can look it up online and add it later! (Way better than Rite Aid where you're out of luck if you forget.)
  • Track your points balance, view your purchasing history, browse available rewards, and request Rewards Certificates, at WalgreensRewards.com.
  • Each family member can sign up and then link their accounts online in order to pool points

Sign up HERE to be notified when the program is available in our area. Of course, I'll keep you informed as we find out more. Hopefully these changes are for the better, and the Register Reward system stays put still!
